　　This is anotice for regulations due to be laid under the 'Automated and electricvehicles (AEV) act 2018'. The AEV Act gives the UK Government the powersthrough secondary legislation to mandate that private electric vehicle (EV)chargepoints sold or installed in the UK must have smart functionality and meetminimum device-level requirements.

　　The UK gave a"pre-notification" in March 2021 to give members the opportunity to provideearly comment. No technical comments were received. The UK is nowformally notifying members of its intention to lay secondary legislation forelectric vehicle smart chargepoints.

　　Proposeddate of adoption: Regulations will be laid in Parliament later in 2021, datetbc.

　　Proposeddate of entry into force: Regulations will be laid in Parliament later in 2021,date tbc.

　　Regulationswill come into force in two stages. The majority of the requirements will beenforced 6 months after the legislation is "made" (no later thanmid-2022), the security requirements will follow 12 months after thelegislation is "made" (no later than end-2022). Dates tbc.
